Light changes fast outdoors

Vineyard and hills venues are often open, outdoor spaces, which means the light shifts more noticeably through the afternoon than it would at an indoor reception. If golden hour matters to you, it's worth asking your venue or planner what time the sun actually sits behind the vines or the ranges on your date. It moves earlier through autumn and can catch couples out.

Travel time between locations adds up

A lot of Hills, Vale and Barossa weddings involve getting ready at one location and celebrating at another, sometimes twenty or thirty minutes apart. That travel time is worth building into your timeline properly. It's often where some of the best candid, in-between content happens anyway.

Connectivity can be patchy

Some of the more tucked-away wine region venues have limited mobile reception. It doesn't affect coverage on the day, but it's worth knowing if you were hoping for content to go live in real time rather than once we're back in range.

Weather is part of the plan, not a problem

Regional South Australian weather can turn quickly, especially in the cooler months. Marquees, verandas and cellar doors all make for genuinely good content when a day doesn't go entirely to script. Some of our favourite footage has come from a wedding party sheltering from a sudden change together.
